Introduction

Mount Batur is a magnificent active volcano that is renowned for its breathtaking beauty and alluring charm. It is situated within Bali’s beautiful sceneries. With hot springs and coffee charm at every corner, this is the start of an incredible journey to discover the beauties of Mount Batur.

The trek to Mount Batur

Mount Batur stands as one of Bali, Indonesia’s premier trekking destinations, offering an exhilarating outdoor adventure. For many, myself included, it marks a thrilling first-time hike in an international setting.

I believe that today was one of the most adventurous and exploratory days, especially with my husband, who has always been an avid hiker and nature enthusiast. He encouraged and guided me to embark on this activity, emphasizing the benefits of walking for both our physical and mental well-being. Exploring new areas and immersing ourselves in nature not only provides exercise but also boosts our adrenaline and invigorates the mind.

It’s important to note that Mount Batur is situated at the center of two concentric calderas northwest of Mount Agung on Bali Island. Despite its location, it remains a popular destination for visitors seeking breathtaking views of the clouds and glorious sunrise amidst the intermountain landscape. Additionally, the summit offers opportunities for aerial shots, allowing visitors to capture incredible videos and photos of the surrounding scenery.

And here it is! On the most thrilling day, we woke up bright and early at 3:00 in the morning to catch our service car, which arrived around 3:30. There are also Group Trekking Tour organizations and Local Trekking Operator Services in Bali, along with trekking guide sites managed by original Balinese people, offering a range of options for exploring Mount Batur.

My husband and I decided to opt for a private guided tour, considering I was a beginner and had never attempted any hiking activities, even in our own country. Mount Batur is known for its steep cliffs, making it one of the most challenging hiking spots in Indonesia.

We began our trek at 3:30 in the morning, joining numerous hikers from various nationalities who were also relishing this exhilarating adventure. Mount Batur is renowned for its natural beauty and is highly recommended for anyone vacationing in Bali.

Exploring the Hot Springs

As part of our trekking package, we included a visit to the Batur Natural Hot Spring, offering a refreshing break during our day tour. Nestled near Lake Batur, we indulged in a relaxing soak, surrounded by pristine surroundings. The soothing hot water worked wonders on our tired muscles, providing much-needed relief after the challenging climb up Mount Batur.

Coffee Charm in the Highlands

If you’re an avid coffee enthusiast, make sure to include a visit to Santi Agro Wisata coffee plantation in your Bali itinerary. Here, you’ll discover the intricacies of the local coffee-making process and have the opportunity to taste the famed Luwak coffee, renowned as one of the world’s most expensive varieties. Luwak coffee is sourced from the feces of the palm civet, resulting in distinct flavors that coffee connoisseurs appreciate. Many tour operators recommend adding this coffee plantation to your Bali tour for an unforgettable experience.
